Sharing your Trip

Nowadays, sharing photos or updates about where you are and what you’re doing is simple. But what method is the best for you? Here’s how you can share your trip online and at home – before, during and after your getaway.

Sharing your trip

Be social

One of the most popular ways of sharing your travel experiences is on social media.

Instagram – Unlike Facebook, Instagram allows you to share only photos – no status updates here. It’s a quick and easy way to share pictures from your trip while you’re on your trip. Take your followers with you on your adventure!

Facebook – At this point, very little explanation is required on how you can use Facebook to share your trip. You can make updates throughout your trip, and make an album of all your photos once you return. Facebook will even make a slideshow of all the pictures you post – no hassle for you! One word of caution –if your house is sitting empty while you are away, you might want to wait until your return to share your trip.

Take it Offline

It seems like a rare thing to do these days, but printing photos from your trip is a great way to share them around your house, and help cure those post-vacation blues.

Frame it and change it – Scatter frames around your house and designate them as your “travel frames” – putting only photos from your trips in them. Each time you go away, switch in the photos from your most recent trip.  It will act like a gallery of your vacation.

Make a scrapbook – This suggestion might seem a little old school, but scrapbooking is a great way to record your vacation memories all in one place. You can make a separate book for each trip, or compile them all into one for a one stop memory shop of all your getaways. The pro to scrapbooking is that you can save more than photos – ticket stubs, postcards, and any other memorabilia you want to keep. It’s also a great way to relive your trip and flex your creative muscles. A suggestion is to do it soon after you return, otherwise you might not get to it.

Go ‘Pro’ with a Photo Book – Do you like the idea of scrapbooking but are more ‘digitally-minded’? A great way to document and share your adventures are photo books. Using software such as iPhoto (on Apple computers or even from your iPhone or iPad) or on websites such as Shutterfly or Snapfish, you can upload, crop and even colour correct you images. Store them on your bookshelf and grow your collection, or showcase them as a beautiful coffee table book. They are usually delivered within a couple of weeks.
